We’re thrilled to present the 2nd Annual SoundWaves & IPAs Music Festival in support of The Summit FM Marilyn Stroud Music Alive Program happening this year on Saturday, July 22nd. Check out or for more information or donation info. Golden String provides services in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull in Ohio and Lawrence and Mercer Counties in Pennsylvania. Golden String runs programs such as, a radio station run by adults with disabilities, Joe Gallagher’s lunch bucket, a restaurant run by adults with disabilities, Gabbacamp, an overnight camp for adults with disabilities, and the Feral Cats, a rock and roll band consisting of adults with disabilities. Golden String specifically aims at improving vocational and social opportunities for our friends with disabilities. is a 501(c)3 not for profit incorporation with a sole purpose to improve the quality of life for adults with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, and traumatic brain injury. Please bring your spare change to donate. Susan, a friend with cerebral palsy, a woman with severe physical disabilities, rolls the change and sends it to Tennessee. We’re donating $1 per per poured during the event to our Golden String Friends. Troy studied percussion at Ohio University with Roger Braun and Guy Remonko. Over the years, Sopko has recorded and performed with artist’s such as Bill Laswell, Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta), Dave King (Bad Plus), Dosh, Tyshawn Sorey, Hideo Yamaki, Dj Logic, Raoul Bjorkenheim, Chris Pitsiokos, Hamir Atwal, Los Lobos and many more.Īn unabashed dilettante, Troy Kunkler can be found playing vibes or drums in a jazz combo, bass in a punk band, singing classic French songs, freely improvising, performing contemporary classical works for percussion, ragtime xylophone or jamming in a number of local bands, such as October Ember, Marvin The Robot, and The Francis Bacon Band. Mike Sopko (Guitarist, Composer, Songwriter) currently resides in Shaker Heights, OH, recording and touring regularly with his bands, Yellowstone Apocalypse (Sludge/Metal duo with Joe Tomino), And Then Came Humans (Jazz/Rock duo with New Orleans drummer Ryan Long), and Togishi (avant-electro-acoustic trio with Dan Wenninger & Joe Tomino). Join us in the Ballroom or on the patio (weather permitting) every Saturday afternoon from 2-5PM for a little live music - no cover charge. ![]()
